Billy has over 20 years’ experience in the special event industry, not just as an electrician but in all facets of production, working for many of Canada’s top producers.
Realizing there was a real need in the market for professional, reliable and efficient portable power
generation and distribution, Billy set out to fill that need in 2002 by bringing together some of Vancouver’s most experienced technicians and suppliers to form Showcall Temporary Power. A new collaboration in 2009 created Viridian Power Corporation. As a Partner and Director of Operations for Viridian, Billy oversaw much of the expansive power requirements of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games
in Vancouver / Whistler. After that very successful and exciting experience, he has returned to his
entertainment roots, founding Eventpower. This company continues to grow at a rapid rate, providing
temporary power services for concerts, festivals, corporate and special events throughout Western
Canada.
His knowledge of temporary power led to his being contracted by BaAm Productions as the Production
Electrician on the NHL outdoor hockey games throughout North America including The Winter Classic in
New York, Santa Clara and Washington, DC; Stadium Series games in Minneapolis, New York, Pittsburgh;
Heritage Classic games in Winnipeg and Vancouver; The Centennial Classic in Toronto and Ottawa.
In 2019, he worked as a Production Electrician on the DOTA2 International in Shanghai, China.
Billy is a licensed electrical contractor and both an ETCP certified Entertainment Electrician and ETCP Portable Power Distribution Technician.
