The fight to control this world-wide pandemic has necessitated a radical change in all our lives and with the need to promote public distancing, it has severely affected the entertainment and event industries. Large scale live events, concerts and touring performances will, in all probability, be the last areas to recover after a vaccine is developed. The list of cancelled events that we are normally involved with each year is enormous and continues to grow. We and our fellow suppliers in this industry have shifted our operations to bring our experience and equipment into the fight.
We have made our generators and human resources available to provide emergency services and backup power wherever it is needed while many of our other colleagues in the business have re-tooled to provide public distancing graphics, masks and PPE, plexiglass shields and barriers, handwashing stations, and backup refrigeration units. We know that live cultural and entertainment events will return stronger than ever but, in the meantime, please join our industry in doing whatever we can to keep us all safe and healthy as we navigate these challenging times. To quote our province’s amazing Health Minister, Dr. Bonnie Henry, “be kind, be calm and be safe”.
