COVID-19

Now that health restrictions have being lifted, we’re starting to see large scale events come back in 2022.

Please continue to take every precaution possible to avoid the spread of COVID variants as these live events return.

To quote our province’s amazing Dr. Bonnie Henry, “be kind, be calm and be safe”

2022 Festival du Bois

We’re finally getting back to work with the 33rd edition of Festival du Bois returning live to Coquitlam for a weekend of folk, roots, global and Quebecois music from French Canada and beyond! Not only was it great to see old friends after two years, but Billy was able to take home his first post-lockdown sugar pie.

2019 BMO Vancouver Marathon

Eventpower is pleased to have once again been a sponsor and supplier of the temporary power services for the 2019 BMO Vancouver Marathon and Half Marathon. We look forward to being a part of the run when it returns in 2021! www.bmovanmarathon.ca

Honda Celebration of Light

The longest running off-shore fireworks competition in the world has an estimated annual attendance of 1.4 million people. This multi-day festival will be missed in 2020 but will definitely return next summer to light the sky above Vancouver.

New Festivals 2019

Eventpower was proud to be the supplier of power to some new festivals in 2019, most notably, the Summerset Festival held at the historic Fort Langley and the Constellation Festival in Squamish.

Marathons

As well as our sponsorship of the BMO Marathon, Eventpower is also proud of our annual work with the Vancouver Sun Run, the CIBC Run for the Cure, The Turkey Trot and Fall Classic.

2019 Vancouver Folk Music Festival

Voted as “Best Local Music Festival” by the Georgia Strait, the 42nd annual Vancouver Folk Music Festival completed another weekend of truly amazing live music at Jericho Beach Park last summer and Eventpower was there to provide clean, hydroelectric power to the entire site.
As a sponsor and supplier, we know firsthand, the hard work and sacrifices that go into producing this world class event. With 80% of its income generated from ticket sales, the Festival is taking a huge hit this year due to the COVID-19 andemic. Please take a moment to visit the VFMF website at www.thefestival.bc.ca and see how you can help the Society continue to present this jewel in Vancouver’s crown for many years to come.

City of Surrey

We spent many enjoyable days back in Surrey during 2019 powering the successful Party for the Planet, Fusion Festival, Jamaica Day, and of course, Western Canada’s largest Canada Day celebration in Cloverdale on July 1st. We also helped the Surrey Marathon, The Surrey Hospital Foundation Gala and were back for the Tree Lighting Ceremony in November. You can check out photos from these events and keep informed of the 2021 return of live events to Surrey by visiting www.surrey.ca/culture-recreation

City of Richmond

2019 saw us back in Richmond for their combined Canada Day / Salmon Festival celebrations and the two-day World Festival at Minoru Park. We were able to power the 2020 Richmond Children’s Art Festival before the quarantine came into effect and look forward to all of these events coming back in 2021.

Snowbombing 2019

We loved our annual trips up to Sun Peaks for Snowbombing. They promise to return, bigger and better than ever in 2021 and we can’t wait!

DOTA 2 – The International 2019

Having worked with this esport tournament last year in Vancouver, we were asked to join the power team at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai for the DOTA 2 International. This year’s prize pool exceeded USD$ 34 million.

2020 Festival du Bois

Another of our favorite annual events that did happen before the pandemic cancellations was Coquitlam / Maillardvlle’s Festival du Bois. It is the largest and most attended francophone festival on the west coast, has delivered great performances from Canada and beyond, while also, sharing the community’s joie de vivre, through great food and its unique hospitality.

Port Moody 2019

The Rotary Club’s “Ribfest” continued to pack in record crowds in 2019 and Eventpower once again provided a combination of hydro and generated power for the event that gets bigger every year. The beautiful Rocky Point Park setting is also home to Golden Spike Days that we have powered for years. Although the 2020 versions of both were forced to take a hiatus, both of these popular summer events will be returning, bigger than ever in 2021.

Winter Festivals 2019

Eventpower again energized the 2019 holiday season with events like the Aurora Winter Festival, the Amacon Tree and the Guildford Winter Market. Our hope is that public distancing will be relaxed enough this winter to allow these events to return for 2020.

VanDusen Gardens

It is always our pleasure to work in Vancouver’s beautiful VanDusen Botanical Gardens. We annually provide electrical services and distribution to numerous events in the park. Although one of our favorite’s, the Sakura Japan Day festival was postponed this year, we are hoping that the Luxury Car Show Weekend will be able to return in the fall.

SeaWheeze Sunset Festival 2019

Eventpower once again was selected to power the 8th annual Sunset Festival. For those who may not be familiar, this festival is the official after-party of the SeaWheeze half marathon and is held in Stanley Park’s Brockton Oval. Facing the stage provides possibly the most beautiful view of the city skyline to be found anywhere. The after-party starts in the afternoon with a large, world-class yoga session for all in attendance and flows into a three-hour dance party with live music, DJ’s, great food and of course that beautiful view. The 2020 Sunset Festival was unfortunately cancelled due to the COVID pandemic, but we expect to see it back, even bigger in 2021.

Symphony at Sunset 2019

Eventpower was chosen to power the 2018 and 2019 Symphony at Sunset. This event has become a popular annual event which celebrates the start of summer with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra performing outdoors at Vancouver’s beautiful Sunset Beach. Another victim of the pandemic, we expect the Symphony at Sunset to return for 2021.

Caribbean Festival 2019

North Vancouver’s annual Caribbean Festival was unfortunately cancelled for 2020. We can’t wait to see it back in 2021.

Arena Shows

Having been the exclusive supplier of power for concerts and special events at Rogers Arena in Vancouver for many years, we miss powering all the usual arena shows that have been put on hold during these challenging times. We also look forward to getting back to work on our usual summer stadium shows in 2021.
